Or, those smiles so bright to see.
But with our dear Dora,
They will forever be.

Yes, God has taken from them,
The one they loved so well,
But she is with the angels,
There to forever dwell.

And the love which God bath given,
Born to live and not to die.
But to bloom from thee in Heaven,

In Memory Of Our Mother Mrs. Modie Meador Mrs. Modie Meadorwas born June 10th, 1864. She was married to Dave Meador in 1878. Tothis union were born 10 children, five boys and five girls. Hercompanion proceeded her in death six years ago. At an early age sheprofessed faith in Christ and lived a beautiful life of Christianservice. She never cared for the wealth and fame of this world, butin her quiet and gentle way she gave the best of her life to herhome and children. The angel of death may often claim our lovedones, but somehow when he comes for mother, the one who has alwaysbeen a little nearer, whose tender loving care, has drawn the cordsof love a little tighter, the one who has willingly as our joys, ourhearts always shared our sorrows as are grieved a little deeper, forwe know there can never be another who could understand like mother. Her many friends shall miss her for she was ever ready and anxiousto go on some errand of mercy for them, yet the good deeds that shehas done, and the seeds of kindness that she has sown in the livesof others, shall grow to bring them joy and comfort for many yearsto come. After she had grown feeble with age, with tearful eyes shewould speak of her past life as being one in which she had done thebest she could, of her thankfulness to the kind and loving Saviorwho had granted her desire in the springtime of life that she mightlive to see her children grown to manhood and womanhood. Thenthrough the vale of tears her countenance would wear a look ofsweetest joy when she would speak of times in the evening of herlife when she had grown homesick for heaven, the place of nodisappointments and the land where she would never grow old. Ourhearts are grieved at her passing But yet they are made to rejoice,For we know she has only answered The call of her Master's voice. Onthe beautiful hillsides of glory Her heavenly reward she will reap. And there the kind loving shepherd Will tenderly care for his sheep.By the river of life he will lead them Beneath the wings of theheavenly dove They shall dwell in sweet peace forever In thesunshine of God's great love. She will be our guiding star in gloryJust leading us to realms above, Where there will be no more sadpartings But whom all is peace and joy and love. —Written bv herchildren.

Aged Woman Passes To Her Reward With Very Slight Warning

On Dec. 6, 1928, the death angel came silently into ourhappy home and took from us our dear loving mother andgrandmother, Mrs. A. L. Reid. It seemed more than we couldbear, but God's will must be done, not ours. She was lovedby everyone who knew her.

She was sick only a few moments, and seemed to be well andhappy up to the moment of her death.

She was enjoying her 74th birthday when God called her hometo be with him. She was good and kind, always glad to seeher children and grandchildren coming to see her. She knewwe all loved her. She was a member of the MethodistProtestant church.

We truly believe that she is now at home with the great Godthat does all things well.

She leaves to mourn her death, three daughters, one son anda host of grandchildren and friends. She was laid to rest inthe Pattersoncemetery beneath a flower covered mound. Funeralservices were conducted by Bro Land and Bro. Bell.

We must weep not for our loss is but heaven's gain. It ishard to know we can never see her smiling face again but wehope to be prepared to meet her where there are no more painor heart aches.

Thou art gone, our precious grandmother,
Never more canst thou return.
How we loved her, how we miss her,
Each and every way we turn.
How we miss those loving hand-clasps.
For this to do she never failed.
How we miss her tender voice
In our home we loved so well.
Oh, how we sit there lonely
In our home we love so dear,
But there sits her rocker-chair vacant,
This sad thought is hard to bear.
Good-bye, grandmother, sleep on sweetly,
For we know thy pain is o’er,
We are hoping, trusting, praying
We will meet to part no more.

Granddaughter, Mary Brown.
